Any Advice???

So, on Saturday, we are flying to Austin, TX to visit Sam's brother and his family. I'm excited to go visit them, but I'm a nervous wreck about Logan being on a plane. He has really gotten quite good at throwing tantrums when he doesn't get his way and I'm worried about how he's going to do on a plane. He is super active nowadays, and being confined for hours on end...well, let's just say I'm not looking forward to it. Oh, and my favorite part is that there is a layover in Salt Lake. But only for a half hour, so there is no time to let him run (crawl) around and get out some energy. For those of you who have flown with small children before, do you have any advice?

Jane is the same way. But she is OK if she is in her car seat. I've heard lots of stories of kids falling asleep on planes easily. Just give him some food once you are settled in your seat, until you are in the air. Then give him a new toy or something.

Honestly, I really have no idea.

Audra was the same as Logan- very squirrely and not wanting to be confined. And, we didn't pay for her to have her own seat, so we knew we would have to hold her the whole time. Here is what we did and it seemed to work:

1. We bought her new/exciting toys she had never seen before and every 1/2 hour would give her a different one (obviously, they were small and inexpensive)

2. Ben and I took turns- we took 10 minute increments- to go with Audra to the back of the plane and let her "explore" back there- there wasn't really anything for her to get into, but at least she could crawl/walk around

3. Pray- A LOT!!!!

That worked for us- and luckily we sat next to nice people who didn't mind her and even played with her- that helped a lot, too!

Good luck- I don't envy you!!!
