Animal Farm

I took the kids to an Animal Farm today. My neighborhood playgroup was supposed to go there anyway, but the weather wasn't cooperating. It was much different from the other day...drizzling, cold, not pleasant. But I had promised Logan we would see animals and he was just too excited about it that we had to go. I shouldn't have done it, but Logan was jumping up and down all morning asking when we were going to see the "amimoles". So I packed up the kids and headed to Forrest Park in Everett. It's a beautiful park, and the animal farm was a huge success with the kids. Logan loved all the animals, and Olivia was rather fond of the horses. Of course, one of the horses gave her a kiss, so I'm thinking that's why she liked them so much. :)

Cool-Pool Party

The other day it finally got a little warm. I figured it was warm enough to get the pool out. It wasn't a hot day by any means...maybe only mid 70's, but the kids were bored and so was I. They loved it! Logan played in the pool for a couple of hours off and on. Olivia was okay with it for a bit, but quickly got tired of it. It was still fun though and I'm glad we were able to use it at least once. I hope summer decides to show up and stay around awhile very soon.

Bed Head

This is what my little girl looked like after she woke up this morning...

Poor thing, I hope she doesn't have this much trouble when she's older. :)

Garage Sale

Today we had our first ever garage sale. Will we do it again? Probably not, at least not for awhile. It was hard to do with Olivia screaming inside the house because she only wanted to be with her mom. For some reason or another, dad just wasn't good enough today. (Sorry about that Sam) Logan of course was dying to be outside as well, so once he got dressed, he spent the day outside with me, managing inventory. :) He was quick to pull items away from people's view if he thought they might want to purchase. Who knew a 2 year old would be so attached to a desk he never even used. He screamed for a good 15 minutes after it got put into the back of someone's truck. He also had a tantrum when our old weed wacker was purchased. He was okay with letting some of his toys go though. Strange! He was very protective of a stuffed bear. He kept saying "eeya's bear" (olivia's bear) and taking it away just as people approached. Perhaps it was a good thing he was so protective, Olivia held on to that bear the rest of the day once the sale was over.

All in all, it was a good experience. We were able to get rid of a bunch of things that were taking up too much space. But perhaps we should hold off on any other garage sales until the kids are a bit older. It might make things a tad bit easier.

On another note, I just have to mention what Olivia did the other day. I was trying to do her hair and she kept grabbing at her head and gave me a very stern look. I continued to keep trying to put her hair in pigtails. After a minute of struggling, she turned and looked at me and sternly said "NO NO MAMA" while shaking her head no. This girl is going to give me trouble. But she's still very cute.

Mr. Independent

This kid loves to go outside. He just unlocks and opens the back door with no problem. He even does it after I tell him not to. It can get very frustrating. Lately I told him that he can't go outside unless he has shoes on. So, one morning when he wanted to go out and I wouldn't let him, because it was 7:30 on a Saturday morning (I knew the neighbors wouldn't appreciate him making all the noise he makes), he went ahead and found his rainboots and put them on and headed outside. Sigh! I just don't know what to do with this kid. But I love him anyway!

Playing together

Actually, I don't know if that's what they were intending to do, but they both enjoyed it. I love it when my kids are happy and get along.

He's saying "big truck" and I'm guessing he was talking about going to get his dog that he got in the end. I'm not sure though, he's a hard one to understand.

And she's off!

Olivia is walking! Well, sort of. She's great at walking while holding on to things. She loves to push anything and everything and walk behind it. Shortly after this video, she took her first official steps! (Which was yesterday) Unfortunately it happened right after I put the camera away, go figure. She's working on it though, today she practiced some more. We think in about a week or so she'll be walking some more.

Oh, and some more bragging about her. She's trying to say more words. She's attempting to say "Logan", "cat", and "socks". It's pretty cute, she'll point to what it is and try to say the word. I should really get it on video. Her favorite thing right now is to drop something and say "Uh oh" and to clap her hands and say "yay". So cute!

Rain or Shine

It doesn't matter what the weather is like to Logan. He loves the outdoors. The other day when it was pouring he went and got his rainboots and rain coat, put them on, and headed out the door to play in the backyard. He was out for quite some time. When he was finally done being outside he came in and said "Momma! Very, very wet!" (pointing to himself)
