Another Brag Post

Last night I went to Fred Meyer to check out the extra 70% off clearance racks. Good thing I did. I bought a lot of clothes for Logan and Olivia, mainly Olivia though since the boy clothes were minimal in his size. I did buy things in larger sizes since it is more winter stuff but I figure she can wear the clothes later on. And, I find it nice to have larger sizes available when they outgrow their clothes so I don't have to rush to the store.

Here's a run down of what I bought:

T-shirt Orig. $16.00, paid $2.99
gloves orig. $ 2.00, paid $0.29
mittens orig. $10.00, paid $2.09
skirt orig. $14.00, paid $2.99
skirt orig. $16.00, paid $2.99
shirt orig. $16.00, paid $2.99
jacket orig. $28.00, paid $5.99
shirt orig. $20.00, paid $4.49

The original total of all that would have been $122.00. I paid, with tax, only $27.18.

Yup, I'm feeling pretty good about myself so far. And as for my grocery bill this month, I spent $241.54 and saved $214.22!!! I'm really liking this money saving thing. Makes me very happy!

Olivia - not quite 8 months, but almost!

Olivia is growing too fast. She's as cute as can be and just so easy to take care of. She's gotten over her "I only want mom" phase, thank goodness. She loves it when daddy comes home from work and can't get enough of him. She goes to sleep at 7pm and sleeps until 7am. She finally got her first tooth and loves to bite on everything. And, she's able to stand while holding on to something, but only for a little bit.

Olivia loves her brother. She's always crawling up to him, only to have him run away. Not to worry though, she chases him down as fast as she can while on all fours.

And, today, she had her first "pigtails". (If you can call them that). She has this patch of hair on her head that is getting too long, yet the rest of her hair hasn't quite caught up with it. So, she has a bit of hair that hangs in her face and it drives me crazy, although she doesn't seem to mind too much. I don't want to cut it, not yet anyway, so today I clipped it back on two sides. Pretty cute!

Little Chef

Logan's new favorite thing to do....

He made me "pupkays" and was quite proud of himself.

A beautiful day in the neighborhood

It has been gorgeous lately, so we just had to take advantage of the nice weather. I took the kids to Country Village in Bothell where we played for a couple of hours. It's got a nice set up for a park. There is a pirate ship, a speed boat, a carousel, and the typical slides and swings for the kids to play on. There was even a cage of birds that both kids couldn't get enough of. They thought it was hysterical to watch the birds fly around and make noise. They loved it!

Happy Valentines Day

I think the kids had a good valentines day this year. Logan got lots of sweets (which he doesn't get much of) and enjoyed every bit of it. Olivia had no clue what was going on, but she did start to officially crawl today. She's been scooting and army style crawling for a long time now, but today is the official crawl day!!! She is fearless. She goes everywhere and isn't afraid of much. She has gotten herself stuck under tables and between couches. It won't take long for her to figure out where the stairs are. I guess it's just about time to find the gate, much to Logan's dismay.

The new naptime routine

Naptime and bedtime have become such a struggle lately, that I've given up. Well, at least for naps. I still put Logan down like I usually would, but now he just gets out of bed, turns on the light and plays. I don't mind, as long as he's quiet. I still need my break. Today though, it got pretty quiet in his room, but the light was still on. I quietly opened the door to find...

At least he's gettting some rest.

My Excellent Shopping Trip!

This morning I took both kids to Fred Meyer for some grocery shopping. It was the first time that Olivia was not in her infant carrier, so I was a little worried about how it would work with two kids in a shopping cart. It worked beautifully. Whoever invented the carts to look like cars, steering wheels included, is a genius! Both kids just loved it!

The really great news is that I got a lot of stuff, for very little money, thanks to coupons and sales. Here is a list of what I got:

2 Betty Crocker supreme brownie mixes
2 Betty Crocker potatoes
1 Gerber Fruit Strip (Logan loves them)
4 Gerber foods for Olivia
2 boxes of cereal (Lucky Charms and Cinnamon Toast Crunch)
1 V8 splash
1 6pack Klondike bars
1 container of strawberries
6 F.M. yogurts
2 gallons of milk
2 8oz Tillamook shredded cheese

The total for all that...

$15.18

I saved about $30.00!!! (give or take a few cents) I consider that to be a very excellent shopping trip. Saved lots of money, and the kids behaved!!! :)
