The kids

The past couple of weeks has been incredibly rough! Olivia has gone from world's best sleeper to hardly sleeping at all. And Logan, well he's your typical 2 year old with LOTS of tantrums. It seems that lately I've been running on empty. I haven't been sure how I've been doing it. I've been telling Sam the past couple of nights that I just needed to get away for awhile...a week would be nice. But today I was thinking that maybe a weekend away would be enough. And then I realized that my kids need me and love me, and I love them and need them. Today really hasn't been as bad as past days. What really helped was this morning. I picked up Olivia because she was crying and she gave me the biggest, wettest kiss on the cheek you can imagine and just hung onto my neck giving me a huge hug! It was so sweet. All I could do was just hug and kiss her back. Logan saw this going on and decided he didn't want to be left out. So he grabbed my legs and just hugged me for a few minutes. When I was able to get down to his level, he gave me a kiss on the cheek and said "I love you". Not in so clear of words, but he said it. He's said it before, but today it really hit me. Having my kids hold on to me the way they were this morning, I realized that I am one of the luckiest people on earth. Having two kids so close together is incredibly rough, but moments like this one are so precious and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

And in case you were wondering, at 6 months, Olivia is at 17lbs 14 ozs, and 26 3/4" tall. (75th %tile and 90th %tile). At 2 years, Logan is 31lbs and 35 3/4" tall. (75th %tile and 90th %tile.)

We are seriously considering not having anymore chidren because of the sleep issues- it is so HARD!! And just when you think you've got it, you don't. I'm so sorry! Hang in there- you are doing great.

Bue you are definitrly right- isn't it amazing how a kiss and hug can change your perspective entirely?
