To celebrate our anniversary, Sam and I went to Portland on Friday and Saturday. We dropped Logan off at my parents house and made our way south. We made it just in time to check into our hotel, change clothes and then head out again to make our dinner reservations. We had a fantastic dinner at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. They had a great deal going where you got a salad, main dish, a side dish and dessert for about $40. Still expensive, I know, but it was actually a lot cheaper than ordering off the menu.
After a wonderful meal, we made our way to the Keller Auditorium where we saw Wicked. I have wanted to see that show for quite some time, and it just happened to be playing the weekend we were down there. It was amazing! It had everything, drama, comedy, romance...it was just great! One day I hope to see it again.
The next day, we had plans to go to the Japanese Garden. It was raining, but we were really hoping that it would somehow miraculously stop when we got to the park. It didn't. But we still went outside to go to the garden. Only, after climbing a few steps, I quickly realized that there was no way I could do it. I've had some pretty intense pain with this pregnancy and walking can really trigger the pain. So when we saw that we actually had to hike up to the garden, we quickly turned around. It was a bit disappointing, but we'll make it there one day.
On the brighter side, we did get to see the world's smallest park. I'm not kidding. Mill Ends Park is the smallest park in the world and it just happens to be in Portland. We just about missed it the first time we drove by so when I took the picture, I just got the top of the tree. The second time around the picture was too blury. So, here is a picture of the park from off the internet.
I'm still not sure how this is a park, but whatever makes people happy I guess. It's located in the middle of a street where a hole was made for a light pole, but the light never arrived, so someone planted a tree. Crazy!
After shopping at Costco (very romantic, I know) we decided to head home. There just wasn't much else to do with the rain. The drive home was crazy though. It was raining so hard at some points that you couldn't really see in front of you, and then there was snow. With the weather behaving the way it was, it was hard to believe that it's the end of March. We eventually made it back to my parents house to get Logan. He had such a wonderful time with his grandparents. His favorite part was probably playing with (or chasing) the cat. He didn't seem to happy to see us, but we expected that. After having so much fun with grandma and grandpa, why would he want to go back home where it can be boring? :)
Thanks mom and dad for watching him! He had a great time!

3 years and going strong!
Sam and I have been married now for a wonderful 3 years! I never could have imagined that I could ever be this happy. Sam is simply the best guy I know, so sweet and caring. He would do anything for me, and I would do anything for him. The past 3 years have flown by, but at the same time, it feels as if we've been together forever all ready. And that's a good thing. There are no words that even come close to describing how I feel about him. Somehow saying "I love you" seems too simple for me, but that's all I can think to say. I am looking forward to the many more years and adventures we have together.
I love you Sam!!!!

Another Logan post
So this was Logan during the show The Backyardigans. No joke, the kid laughed for a good 20 minutes before getting tired. It was quite entertaining. (Please ignore his outfit though. We've gotten a little lazy in dressing him.)
Some other things he's been up to have been finding different places to sit in or on around the house.
He keeps us really busy, but we love him so much! He truly has been a blessing in our lives.

Our Sunday
Today started out alright. Logan and Sam both slept in (thanks to daylight saving)so it was a hurry to get ready for church. I finally got released from the nursery. I loved working with the kids, but my back just couldn't take it anymore. I'm not sure why, but this pregnancy is killing my back. That's really about the only problem I've had though, so I shouldn't complain.
After church we ate lunch, and Logan thought it would be fun to eat with the large wooden spoon I've been letting him play with.
Once lunch was over, Logan was his usual self, getting into all sorts of mischief. He even climbed into his toy basket. (I've really got to invest in a box with a lid.)
After a much needed nap (for all of us) and more play time, it was time to start making dinner. Apparently Logan couldn't wait as all he did was stand in front of the oven door and look inside as dinner was baking.
Sundays are generally laid back in this household. I love it though. The only problem I have with them is that the next day is Monday and Sam goes back to work leaving me alone to take care of Logan. That's not so bad though, Logan is a great kid. He's just very energetic and curious about everything, and all I want to do is sleep. Oh well, he keeps me going and somehow I make it 'til Sam gets home. :)

Kittens and a kid
On Friday, I took Logan down to his Uncle David's house. He had just got 2 kittens and Logan is a big fan of animals, so I thought it would be fun for him to be around them. That, and he got to spend some time with his uncle. We had so much fun and the kittens are adorable and super friendly. Logan even said "Hi kitty"! I thought I had just heard it, but David was shocked and asked if I had heard it too. So, apparently Logan can say "hi" and "kitty", he just doesn't say it often.
It didn't take long for Logan to find all the of Xbox 360 items, especially the drums for Rock Band. Logan loves to play with the drumsticks at our house and apparently the kittens like to play with them at David's. So when Logan found the drumsticks and started playing with them, it didn't take long for the kittens to follow Logan all over the house. It was too cute!
