This was Logan's first year out trick or treating. He didn't like it. He fought us on wearing the costume (he didn't want to) and when we went door to door he didn't want the candy. Oh well, perhaps next year he'll get the idea. It is kind of strange though, that once a year kids dress up in costumes and knock on doors, all to get candy. I think it's fun for the kids, but I also think that it was a little too much for Logan.
On a brighter note, our neighbors had a halloween party and had a bouncy house for the kids. Logan loved it! I'm glad that he had fun for at least one part of halloween. :)
As for the costumes, I had originally planned to have Logan be a lion and Olivia be a lamb, but I couldn't find a lion costume in Logan's size. I did however find a puppy costume for Logan and thought it might be cute to have 2 puppies, but I couldn't find one I liked in Olivia's size. Then I thought that she could be a kitten, but same problem, nothing in her size (at least within my price range). I could've made something, but I didn't have the time or energy to put into it. So they ended up as follows...Logan a puppy and Olivia a lamb. You take what you can get!
He did not want to wear the hat, or the costume for that matter.
Finally out trick or treating.
My cute little lamb!

Craven Farm
Yesterday we went to Craven Farm. The initial idea was to go for some pumpkins to take home to carve. What really happened was we saw a corn maze and decided to go for it. By the time we finished the corn maze, we were all extremely exhausted so we went home. No pumpkins this year, but that's alright. Logan seemed to really have a great time in the maze. He even led us through it as he seemed so determined to follow the path. After an hour or so, we had finally made it through the maze with lots of mud on our shoes and jeans.

Desperate times call for desperate measures
Logan has become an expert at taking a chair and moving it to the counter so that he can climb up on to it. Normally, I wouldn't mind so much but lately he has used it to get to the kitchen knives and scissors. And this would be done while I was feeding Olivia. It was almost as if he knew that I wouldn't be able to do anything to stop him. So Sam had this idea...
So far it's working. :)

Rainy Days
Rain and Logan do not mix very well. Now that it's raining, Logan is indoors a lot. He is always on-the-go and needing something to keep him busy. And, being only 21 months, he gets bored very easily. He seems to be sick of his toys, but I refuse to get him anything new until Christmas and his birthday. While I try to come up with interesting and new things for him to do (and it's not working so well), Logan has come up with an idea of his own on how to keep busy.
These pictures are from a few days ago, but he still enjoys pulling up a kitchen chair over to the sink and playing in the water. And he loves to set the table. His new found enjoyment as of today, is to pull a chair up to the stove, climb on to it and turn it on! Not my favorite thing for him to do. He's also found where I've put all scissors and knives. It's been very interesting trying to feed Olivia and keep Logan off of the kitchen counters at the same time these past few days.
After a desperate phone call to my mom for ideas on how to keep Logan busy and out of trouble, I decided that maybe he would enjoy a fort to play in. It's not the best one by any means, but it kept him occupied for well over an hour. I just found a sheet and threw it over the couch and a couple of chairs. Logan's favorite thing to do though was to jump on top of the sheet and knock it down. I would've used the kitchen table, but we don't have a blanket large enough to cover it all.
Now to think of what to do tomorrow! Ugh!!

Poor Logan
This kid has been through so much! It all started back in mid August with a cold that hasn't gone away. We took him to the doctor about 2 weeks ago where he was diagnosed with bad ear infections in both ears. He was given amoxicillin to take. Well, as it turns out, he is allergic to it. This was something I didn't pick up on until I took him back to the doctor a week later (this past Monday) because he still didn't seem any better. Well the doctor saw the hives (which I thought were bug bites) and checked out his ears and they weren't any better. So he was put on a different antibiotic. The next day he broke out into a horrible rash that covered his entire body. I of course panicked and took him back to the doctor who told me it wasn't a reaction to the medicine, but was the roseola rash!
The picture doesn't do it justice. The rash was really bad and lasted for a couple of days. Just when I thought he could only get better, the cough he has had for about a month seemed to be getting worse. So I made another call to the doctor who had me bring him in again for the third time this week! After another evaluation, the doctor said that his ear infections were starting to clear up, but that he had a sinus infection and his airways were inflamed. So he was given yet another antibiotic and a steroid to clear things up (hopefully). We were told that if he wasn't any better in two weeks to bring him back in and he would have to have an X-ray done to make sure it hasn't turned into something serious like pneumonia.
I'm really hoping that this round of medication clears things up for Logan. It's been just too long that he's been going through this. However, he's been pretty good through it all. Some days are worse than others, but for the most part, he's been acting like himself (which is why we waited so long to take him to the doctor in the first place).

A Belated Happy Birthday
It was Sam's 30th birthday on Monday. We had a surprise birthday party for him on Saturday which was a lot of fun. I'm surprised that he didn't question me for taking him out on some random errands on Saturday so that everyone could show up and get the house ready. His parents came down Saturday morning to babysit the kids while we went shopping. If it was me, I would've questioned it, but he didn't...thank goodness. The party was great. Lots of incredible food and Sam was able to play his rock band games with everyone.
On Monday, Sam and I went out to lunch to Benihana in Seattle, followed by an Argosy cruise Lakes Tour. We went around Lake Union and Lake Washington. It was an absolutely gorgeous day and I'm glad we were able to take advantage of it.
You can barely see it, but Mt. Rainier is behind the clouds
This is what I like to think is going to be our future house. :)
