3 Months

Time sure is flying by. Olivia is now 3 months old and still just as precious as ever. Here are some of her 3 month pics.

2 months

Okay, so it's a little late, but Olivia is now 2 months! Some things she is now doing include:

Rolling over from tummy to back
Smiling
Laughing
Cooing (like crazy, she loves to "talk")
Use her forearms to lift her head up, she can even get her chest off the ground
And sleeping through the night (my favorite)

She had her Dr. appointment today and these are the results...

Weight: 14lbs 9ozs
Height: 25"
And again she's above the 95th %tile for both.

She is a healthy and very happy little baby girl! She is always smiling and laughing. She brings us such joy!

Musically Inclined

Well, we've only assumed that Logan was really into music, but this weekend, he proved to us that he truly is. He seems to have a natural talent for it. On the way up to his Uncle's house he sat in his carseat, singing to himself while clapping his hands or tapping his knees to the beat (or what we assume was the beat) to his songs. Today during church, he took off and I followed him down the hall. He found the primary room and the music stand, where he stood and waved his hands as if leading the music and singing to himself. Then he spotted the piano, went straight for it, got the music book, opened it up and started playing. Well, really he just hit random keys on the piano, but he was looking intently at the hymn book and singing. After church, he found the piano in the Relief Society room and started to play. He does this all the time at home. He'll just make his way upstairs and start playing the piano, bang on the drums, or strum the guitar. He's even figured out how to turn on the Xbox and start up rock band. He loves to sing into the microphone. Dancing is also another favorite of his. Music is definitely Logan's thing. So today, we had The Sound Of Music on TV. It shouldn't have, but it surprised us that Logan actually sat still for longer than a minute for the movie. It is a musical after all. I've never seen him sit in one spot for awhile and be fine with it. He's usually always up and about, finding some sort of trouble. But I guess now we know to put on a musical for Logan if we need him to be still for a bit.

How to cut a toddler's hair...

Logan is yet again in need of a haircut. His hair grows way too fast, and is incredibly thick. I've tried cutting it myself, but it never looks right. I've had my mother-in-law cut his hair (bless her) but it took all day. Paying $25 is out of the question. So I turned to the web to see if I could find any tips on how to cut the hair of an almost 2 year old and this is what I found.

How to cut a toddler’s hair in 25 easy steps

1. After looking at the sweaty haired toddler, determine he desperately needs a haircut
2. RIGHT NOW
3. Get out the haircutting supplies while feeding self delusions of grandeur
4. Put cape around toddler, which he promptly tears off
5. Pick up the first piece of hair, hold it lovingly between fingers
6. Begin cutting the perfect hair cut
7. Toddler shakes his head furiously
8. Resulting in a bald spot
9. Delusions of giving the perfect haircut, where strangers would approach and ask for the name of my toddler hairdresser and then look at me incredulously and utter, “wow, you cut hair? You are amazing!” are shattered
10. Pin toddler between knees
11. Let toddler lose exactly 3.5 seconds later after fearing the neighborhood windows will shatter from his piercing screams
12. Scream, “Baby you’re so going to lose an ear if you keep up the writhing!”
13. Employ new method of haircutting, a.k.a how much worse could it look
14. Grab and cut random patches of hair
15. while following behind the running toddler
16. Running with scissors near son’s head
17. now THAT is behavior you hope your children will model
18. Encourage 3 yr old to have a turn cutting toddler’s hair
19. good parenting at it’s finest
20. This way when people ask if a child cut the toddler’s hair the answer is truthfully, yes
21. Wonder how a baby crew cut would look
22. Decide, wisely, against getting out the clippers
23. Realize there is a special place in hell for people who cut their own toddler’s hair
24. At least he has those dimples to distract people, and a cute sun hat
25. And really, does anyone who still craps their pants care what their hair looks like

My dad is incredible and came up with the amazing idea of how to store Christmas lights. I guess he had had enough of trying to untangle them and store them. Sam and I saw how it works, and it does.
