Fun in Texas, Day 1

Sam and I decided to go to Austin, TX to visit his brother and sister-in-law for a couple of days. We flew down on Nov. 1 and came home Nov. 5. We had a good time and enjoyed visiting Joel, LeighAnn, and Bailey. Logan had a fun time hanging out with his cousin, just 4 months younger. The two of them were so cute together. I think Bailey had the most fun attacking Logan by jumping on his back and trying to grab at him whenever she could. Poor Logan, he never really figured out that if he wanted to avoid getting attacked, all he had to do was crawl away.

Our first day in Austin was pretty laid back. We slept in as much as Logan would allow us, and just hung out in the morning. LeighAnn made an awesome suggestion of going for a picnic in a park. So we packed up some food and headed outside. We drove to a park that had those water fountains that kids can run through. We spent a good amount of time there and even let Logan and Bailey play in the water...well, as much as they would allow anyway. It was so much fun to watch them. I can't wait until Logan is actually able to walk/run through the water instead of just standing there, or trying to crawl without putting his knees on the ground. :) It amazed me that in November, kids were playing in water. We had nice mid 80 degree weather while we were in Austin. I enjoyed every minute of it, knowing that we would be heading back to rain and cold in just a few days. After the park we made our way to the State Capitol building. It was amazing. The grounds were gorgeous and the building itself was gorgeous. I'm thinking that by this point in the day, all the kids wanted to do was go home and take a nap, but they were good anyway for us. After the Capitol, we went back home and let the kids rest. When they woke up from their naps, it seemed that they found each other to be rather hilarious. No matter what Logan did, Bailey would laugh like crazy, and vice versa. Here is a cute video of the two cousins having fun.

It's so fun to see the two little cousins play. I hope Hannah doesn't smother Logan when we come. She looooves babies!
